Curriculum Vitae

Tobias Sohny has studied Electrical Engineering and Business Administration at the University of Applied Sciences in Koblenz and graduated with a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering. In his final theses, he worked on PLC programming with connected Human Machine Interface as well as machine data acquisition (interface including the evaluation of the OEE) in special mechanical engineering. Since March 2018, Tobias Sohny has been employed as a research assistant in the Digital Production Laboratory of the University of Applied Sciences Koblenz. There, he is working on an industrial research project for the integration of simulation into the engineering process. Furthermore, he is an external Ph.D. student at the TU Dortmund University at the ITPL department since 2018. His research focuses on reference models for simulation of production systems, based on the value stream method. This value stream simulation approach enables an efficient modelling of simulation models for customer-specific production systems with complex material flow, already when setting up bids. This will allow suppliers to economically substantiate their throughput performance during the bidding phase.
